ALAPPUZHA, JAN. 21. The Alappuzha SDV School will implement various development activities during the current year as a part of the year-long centenary celebrations of the school, the school managing committee president, C. K. Parameswara Panicker, has said. The celebrations began on January 18. As a part of the celebrations, the buildings of the school would be modernised without losing its traditional charm, said Mr. Panicker. A centenary memorial building would be constructed at the school. Mr. Panicker said that various new courses would be started. Facilities would be made at the school to provide computer literacy to the students of upper primary section, said the school managing committee secretary, J. Krishnan. Steps would also be taken to upgrade the teaching standard at the school, said Mr. Krishnan. Various seminars, competitions for students, and an alumni meeting have also been planned as part of the celebration, he said.
