Ranbaxy forays into herbal products market

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, JAN. 21. Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited today announced its entry into the herbal products market here by launching three new healthcare products under the brand `New Age Herbals,' to be marketed through its separate business division — Ranbaxy Global Consumer Healthcare (RGCH).

The company's regional director (Asia Pacific and Middle East) and RGCH head, Atul Malhotra, said the three products — Olesan oil for cold, Olesan cough syrup and East-Ease appetite enhancer — would be available through the company's wide distribution network.

"All the new products have been scientifically developed in-house by the Ranbaxy's research and development team and are being produced under strict quality control. By the end of this year we plan to introduce six more herbal products,'' he informed.

According to Mr. Malhotra, doctors would be approached to ask them to add these products in their prescription list."This would bring confidence among people about the quality and safety of our produce."
