Corporation inaugurates Rs.1.56 cr. worth projects

CHENNAI, JAN. 21. The Chennai Corporation on Wednesday inaugurated eight projects in Zones V (Anna Nagar) and IX (Saidapet). The total cost of the projects was Rs 1.56 crores.

An official release said classrooms were constructed in the Corporation Higher Secondary School at Jafferkhanpet, Corporation High Schools in Maduvankarai and the Corporation High School in K.R.Koil Street, West Mambalam. The MLA, Radha Ravi, declared open the classrooms and a laboratory in the Corporation Boy's High School, Saidapet. He allotted Rs 83 lakhs from his MLA constituency development fund to the projects.

In Zone V, the Corporation inaugurated a community hall at Shenoy Nagar, additional classrooms in the Corporation Middle School at Vellala Street, Purasawalkam and a multi-disciplinary health center at Collectorate Colony. The buildings were constructed at a cost of Rs 72.58 lakhs.

The Deputy Mayor, `Karate' R. Thiagarajan, AIADMK leader in the council V. Sukumarbabu and the Deputy Commissioner (Education), D.P.Yadav were present.
