BANGALORE, JAN. 21. The Institute of Parliamentary Affairs has welcome the statement of the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, that elections would be held to the State Assembly in September.

In a statement, the institute Secretary, M.C. Shanthamurthy, said that it was a bold, firm, and democratically desirable decision.

Parliament and the State legislatures should have a fixed term of five years to ensure political stability, he added.
