Mainly clear sky forecast

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.5 degrees Celsius and minimum of 15.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The recorded humidity was 44 per cent. The Airport recorded a maximum temperature of 28.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 14.6 degrees Celsius. The recorded humidity was 34 per cent. Forecast: Mainly clear sky. Fog/mist likley during early morning hours. Minimum temperature will be around 15 degrees Celsius.

Discussion on HIV/AIDS

M.S. Ramaiah Hospital is holding a discussion on HIV and AIDS for the benefit of doctors having clinics or nursing homes near the hospital on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the hospital auditorium, M.S.R. The Elder's Helpline (1090) is offering free legal advice on the helpline every Thursday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. with the help of young lawyers and professionals from the Alternative Law Forum. Interested persons may call the helpline.

Workshop on excellence

Builder re-elected

K.L. Mohan Rao has been re-elected Chairman of the Builder's Association of India, Karnataka centre, for a second term. The other office-bearers of the association are K. Subramani, (Vice-Chairman), K.S. Someshwar Reddy (Secretary), and R.J. Srinivas (Joint Secretary).

Eye screening camp

Rotary Eye Hospital, 10th A Main, 68th Cross, 5th Block, Rajajinagar, will conduct a free eye screening camp on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suture less cataract surgery with implantation of IOL will be done at subsidised rate. For details, call 3104020.

Cell phone repair

Pusetone Industries, a Government of India and UGC associated training centre, will conduct a one-month part-time training programme from February 9 in mobile phone software and hardware repairs. Free hostel accommodation will be provided for outstation candidates. Those who have completed PUC, JOC, and diploma are eligible. Last date for admission is February 7. Distribution of coins

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will distribute coins to the public in front of ICICI Bank at Commissariat Road, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday. This is in addition to the supply of coins over the counters. Soiled and slightly mutilated notes particularly in the lower denominations of Re. one, Rs. two and Rs. five will be accepted in exchange of coins. The coins will be issued in plastic pouches. Each pouch will contain coins worth Rs. 100, Rs. 200, and Rs. 500.
