TIRUPUR, JAN. 21. Revenue officials here are preparing a comprehensive plan to organise awareness programmes for women workers of various industries in the town. Official sources told The Hinduthat resource persons had been identified for this purpose. A detailed plan would be evolved taking into account the different types of industries with women employees and also the number of units in the town. The programme would cover subjects like crime against women. This would be submitted to the District Collector shortly, they added. Earlier, it was proposed to set up a cell in the town to take up activities that would help improve social awareness among women workers on issues related to them. However, it was now planned to organise programmes in each unit instead of setting up a cell. This would help in reaching out to more workers.
