Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to the editorial, "The WSF phenomenon" (Jan. 22). Globalisation is unavoidable. It should be introduced by keeping the benefit of the poorest in mind. If implemented properly, it will prove a boon for the poor.
Bhupesh Bisht,
* * * Sir, The WSF 2004 has been held in India at a time when the effects of globalisation have spread to every nook and corner of the country. The WSF as a forum may not boast of a specific consensus on many issues but strikes at the root of the "there is no alternative" theory being propounded by the custodians of international capital.
N. Sekar,
Hyderabad
