Regularise the sport

Sir, — This is with reference to jallikattu that is discussed during Pongal time and forgotten for the rest of the year. Instead of banning the age-old rural sport, it should be regularised.

The sport should be made safe for spectators. Participants should be screened for skill and willingness. If regulations are put in place, jallikattu can achieve the status of kabadi.
