Kurnool
By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, JAN. 22. The All-party panel, led by the TDP leader, Dhana Reddy, called for Kurnool bandh on January 24 demanding separate municipality status for Kallur township. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the members said no substantial development had taken place after merger of Kallur panchayat with the Kurnool municipal corporation two years ago. According to them, the residents experienced only enhanced taxes and not any improvements. The leaders said they would appeal to the citizens to boycott the next election to protest against the under-development of the township. Messrs Saireddy, Ramakrishna, Venkatesh, John Chandramohan and others were present.
