Satyam Q3 net up 25 p.c.

Satyam Computer Services has increased its total income by 32.5 per cent to Rs. 691.15 crores for the quarter ended December 31, 2003 from Rs. 521.50 crores in the year-ago period. Software revenues stood at Rs. 662.70 crores recording a rise of 26.9 per cent.

This has significantly surpassed the guidance of Rs. 620-Rs. 630 crores issued at the end of the second quarter of the financial year, according to a company release.

The net profit has risen by 24.9 per cent to Rs. 145.87 crores over the same period last year. Net earnings for the quarter stood at Rs. 4.63 (on par value of Rs. 2 per share).

During the quarter under reference Satyam had added 1,087 employees The total strength of manpower stood at 12,300.

Apollo Hospitals

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise reported a turnover of Rs.126 crores for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, a growth of 13 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The net profit grew 72 per cent to Rs. 10 crores from Rs. 5.80 crores. For the nine months ended December 31, 2003, the turnover has grown by 11 per cent to Rs. 366.70 crores and the net profit by 39 per cent to Rs. 43.70 crores.
