By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, JAN. 22. Dawa, son of the Sikkim Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Bhutia, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a house in Siddapura police station limits here on Wednesday.

The police suspect that Dawa (21), a student of St. Joseph's College here, could have died due to excessive intake of alcohol. Autopsy of the body was conducted at the Victoria Hospital on Thursday and the report was awaited, the police said.

They said Dawa, who was reportedly drunk, was found lying in front of a medical shop, near his room, in Byrasandra on the night of January 18. Jimmy, another youth from Sikkim, who saw Dawa took him to his (Dawa's) room.

When Dawa did not attend college for two days, Jimmy and his friends came to Dawa's room on Wednesday evening and found him dead. Subsequently, they informed the police.

As Dawa's body was decomposed, the police suspect that he may have died on the night of January 18 itself. The Siddapura police have registered a case of unnatural death.
