TIRUCHI, JAN. 22. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) will work for the establishment of a secular government at the Centre A. Soundararajan, general secretary, Tamil Nadu State committee, said today. Addressing a press conference here, he said the main aim of the CITU was to defeat the BJP at the Centre and teach a ``fitting lesson'' to the AIADMK in the State in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP-led Government's policies in the last four years affected the industries sector, while the AIADMK Government was pursuing ``anti-people'' policies and functioning ``autocratically'' in the last two years. Mr. Soundararajan said the CITU would extend support to the DMK-led front. It would go all out to oppose and isolate the communal forces and establish a secular government at the national level.
