NEW DELHI JAN. 22 . It will be yet another cloudy day for the Capital on Friday, with the sun god likely to continue with his hide and seek game with the city. The weather department has forecast a mainly cloudy sky for the Capital with one or two spells of rain or thundershower likely in some areas.

While mist or fog is also likely in the morning, the minimum temperature is likely to be around 10 degree Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung were 20.2 and 10.5 degree Celsius, while Palam recorded 20.4 and 10.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The Rainfall recorded at Safdarjung was 3.2 mm in the last 24 hours. While Safdarjung recorded a maximum humidity of 93 per cent, the minimum here was 66 per cent. In the case of Palam, the maximum was 95 per cent and the minimum was 61 per cent.

Held for murder

A 50-year-old man, who was allegedly involved in a murder-cum-dacoity case, was arrested by the Crime Branch at Loni border in North-West Delhi on Wednesday.

The Crime Branch received a tip-off that Anish Khan, who along with his woman accomplice, Shabana and others, had hired a Toyota Qualis from Shahdara for Aligarh in November 2002, killed its driver and disposed of the vehicle in Nepal, would come to the Capital.

Accordingly, the police laid a trap and arrested the accused while he was entering Delhi. During interrogation, Anish confessed to his involvement in the murder-cum-dacoity case registered at Seelampur police station.

Stabbed to death

JAN. 22 . A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified men at Patel Nagar in West Delhi today.

According to the police, Ram Chandra, a labourer living at Prem Nagar in Patel Nagar, was shifting his jhuggi when a group of young men came to his shanty around 4 p.m. An altercation ensued between them following which he was stabbed. The assailants then fled the scene. Ram Chandra was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case of murder has been registered at Patel Nagar police station and further investigations are on.

Auto thief arrested

A person allegedly involved in auto-lifting cases was arrested at Uttam Nagar in West Delhi on Wednesday. Two stolen Maruti cars have been recovered at his instance.

The accused, Sanjay, was arrested at Raghubir Nagar. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in at least four cases of auto-lifting. He disclosed that he along with his accomplices used to steal mostly new vehicles.

The police have launched a hunt for his accomplices and are trying to trace other stolen vehicles.

Fake e-mail

The fake e-mail sent by someone to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) apparently with an intention to fraudulently procure original examination papers of the pre Post-Graduation tests to be conducted on January 11, has been traced to Pathankot in Punjab. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is planning to send a team to identify the culprit.

Since the e-mail sender, who had identified himself as an I.P.S. officer, Rakesh Chhabra, appears to have good knowledge about the functioning of the CBI, the officials suspect that he could well be a part of bigger racket into procurement of examination papers of premier institution.

A CBI official said the provisions of law pertaining to cyber crime could also be added to the case, as the culprit had misused the free services provided in the internet to create a website "cbinic.zzn.com" - a name similar to that of the CBI portal - to send the vicious mail.
