BANGALORE, JAN. 22. Initiatives for Development through Participation of Marginalised Sections is organising "Aarambh", an exhibition and sale of handicrafts from January 23 to February 1 at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat here. The exhibition is sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. It will showcase Sisal fibre craft made by artisans from Chamarajanagar district. Speaking to presspersons here on Thursday, Sadanand, President, Initiatives for Development through Participation of Marginalised Sections, said the crafts persons were being organised into self-help groups. He said skill upgradation programmes were being conducted for them and the Initiatives for Development through Participation of Marginalised Sections had also held design and development programmes and had provided marketing support services for them. The exhibition aimed at providing marketing support to the existing and new products, he added. Ramalinga Reddy, Minister for Bangalore Development, will inaugurate the exhibition.
