BANGALORE, JAN. 22. To help citizens obtain documents relating to their property, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike will distribute computerised khata certificates and extracts free to all those who pay up property tax. This scheme will be on till the end of February. The certificates will be issued through the computerised Citizen Service Centres at the Public Utility Building on Mahatma Gandhi Road, the Mahanagara Palike Central Office at N.R. Square and its zonal offices on Sampige Road and Jayanagar II Block, according to a press release here. Computerised khata certificates and extracts will be issued on payment of property tax. Those who have paid tax earlier can obtain khata certificates after paying a fee of Rs. 25 and extracts after paying Rs. 100, the release has said. For the convenience of property owners, the Mahanagara Palike has made special arrangements by post additional staff at the tax counters. The service centres are open between 9 a.m. and noon and between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on all working days.
