BSNL phones to have eight-digit nos from today

BANGALORE, JAN. 22. The eight-digit numbering system will come into effect for all BSNL landline telephones in Bangalore Urban area at midnight on Friday. As announced, the existing seven digit numbers will have a prefix "2," according to a BSNL Bangalore Telecom District release.
