BANGALORE, JAN. 22. Two youth on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 5,000 from a 17-year-old girl in RT Nagar Police limits on Wednesday. Police said the chain was snatched from Jeshma, a II PU student, at Vasanthappa Block in Ganganagar, when she was returning home from computer class at about 8.15 p.m. A case has been registered.
Arrested
Koramangala Police have arrested seven persons who allegedly waylaid and robbed more than 10 persons in the city in the last fortnight and recovered valuables worth Rs. 1 lakh from them. The arrested persons allegedly robbed six persons of cash and wristwatches in Koramangala Police limits on January 10, police said. Police gave the names of the arrested persons as Ramesh (19), Shekar (18), Senthil Kumar (21), Yogesh (19), Himavanth (19), Narasimha (18) and Shantha Kumar (19). They were residents of Koramangala and surrounding areas, police said.
Stolen
Thieves broke into the house of a senior official of the State Government, Parvathi, at Arakere in MICO Layout Police limits on Wednesday and allegedly took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs. 1.78 lakhs, police said. MICO Layout Police have registered a case.
Raid
The City Crime Branch (CCB) officers raided gambling dens in the RMC Yard Police limits on Wednesday and arrested six persons on a charge of indulging in "matka". Police seized Rs. 7,000 in cash and illegal lottery tickets.
