Ethnic food festival a big hit

By Our Staff Reporter

NIZAMABAD, JAN. 23. The ethnic food festival and the exhibition at the ongoing four-day Indur Utsav, became an instant hit with the people of the town. The Indur Utsav was formally inaugurated last night by the Minister for Tourism, Talsani Srinivas Yadav.

From the first day onwards itself, the festival appears to have caught the imagination of the people with wholesale entertainment for the people of the town who are starved of cultural and literary activities. The ethnic food festival, the exhibition and the cultural programmes are creating waves much to the delight of the organisers.

The ethnic food festival at the Collectorate grounds became such a hit that large crowds were seen at the various food stalls. The popularity of the food stalls could be gauged from the fact that the Tourism Minister, the Labour Minister, P.Babu Mohan, School Education Minister, Mandava Venkateswara Rao, and the Nizamabad MP, Gaddam Ganga Reddy, stopped for a while at the ethnic food festival stall offering mouth watering Andhra style delicacies. Having tasted the various eatables, the Minister exuded confidence that people would patronise them. If it was the Andhra food festival yesterday, the Rajasthani food mela today attracted large crowds. With cultural programmes lined up during the evenings at the Collectorate grounds, these food stalls were doing roaring business. The organisers took proper care to highlight the ethnic culture of the region from which the delicacies are prepared. Yesterday, the Andhra food festival stall was tastefully decorated to give a local touch. The organisers lined up Gujarati and Punjabi food festivals in the next two days.
