Airtel's e-recharging facility

COIMBATORE: The Airtel, a cellular service provider on Friday launched a facility for recharging of pre-paid mobile phone SIM cards instead of going through the present system of coupons. According to the General Manager (Sales), Ram Gopal Vallath, by punching in an SMS, the distributor could get the talk-time transferred from Airtel. The distributor in turn would pass it on to the subscriber. The quantum of talk-time transfer could range from a minimum of Rs. 50 to a maximum of any amount by way of SMS irrespective of the subscriber's location, even during late night hours. With this facility, Airtel was hoping to wipe off the system of coupons at least by 50 per cent, he said. — Our Staff Reporter
