Swimming
By Our Special Correspondent
MYSORE, JAN. 2 3. The South Zone aquatic championship returns to Mysore after a decade and the meet, which gets underway at the University swimming pool in Sarawathipuram here on Saturday, promises a few keen contests, despite the absence of some of the top performers from the four Southern States. Many top swimmers chose to skip the meet due to academic examinations. The women's National meet, which is scheduled to be held at Visakhapatnam on January 28, has made Andhra to field a rather weak squad. The host too misses quite a few of its top stars including Rehan Poncha, Shikha Tandon, Reshma Millet, V. Sivranjani and few others.
