DINDIGUL, JAN.24. The Collector, P. Senthil Kumar, said a gram sabha meeting would be convened in all 306 panchayats in the district on the Republic Day. In a release on Friday, he said the panchayats would review various development works being undertaken in their panchayats by the State and Central Governments. They would also discuss propagation total rural sanitation, clean environment, hygiene surroundings and vermicompost. The panchayats would chalk out programmes, among others, to eradicate malnutrition, maintain sanitary complexes and construct toilets in all houses under the individual toilet schemes.

The Collector, Atul Anand, said a gram sabha meeting would be held in all 130 panchayats on January 26 as part of Republic Day meetings. A list of TAHDCO beneficiaries would be passed in the meeting. Departments would accept names approved by the gram sabha only, he added.
