`Tiranga makes everyone look equal'

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, JAN. 24. Saffron, white and green dominated the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as children and adults alike gathered here this morning to "Run for Tiranga''. Organised by the Flag Foundation of India, the run is a part of the ongoing attempt by the Foundation to increase awareness on displaying the National Flag.

"It has been so many years after independence yet, not many people have touched the Tiranga. It is a source of inspiration to every Indian and so all of us should display it and take pride in this greatest symbol of our nation,'' said president, Flag Foundation of India, Naveen Jindal, who won every Indian the right to hoist the Indian tricolour on all days.

Participants for the "fun run'' included students from schools and universities all over the Capital who took a round of the stadium. T-shirts and lapel badges were distributed to all participants.

"It was amazing to see everyone from a little kid to a 50-year-old wearing the Tiranga t-shirt! Everyone looks the same when they wear the Tiranga. It's like the Tricolour makes everyone look equal,'' said vice-president, Flag Foundation of India, Shallu Jindal.

Among those present were also Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Guru Jaggi Vasudev who flagged off the run.
