CHENNAI, JAN.24. The sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday and the minimum temperature will be around 22 degree Celsius. On Friday, the maximum temperatures at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam were 30.8 and 31.2. The minimum was 22.5 and 22. Humidity was 79 per cent in both the places.

Cancellation of trains

Some suburban trains on the meter gauge section will not be run between Singaperumalkoil and Chengalpattu on January 25, 31 and February 1 from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are: TC 3 Tambaram-Chengalpattu and CT 8 Chengalpattu-Tambaram.

Ticket-checking drive

The Chennai Division of the Southern Railway collected Rs 1.28 lakhs as fine during a ticket-checking drive recently. A total of 1,858 cases were filed for ticketless travel, irregular travel and un-booked luggage. The drive was conducted by a team of 75 staff members along with Railway Protection Force personnel, says a release.

Kanchi Acharyas' camp

The Kanchi Acharyas, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi and Sri Vijeyendra Saraswathi, will camp at Chellammal Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School, Hindu Colony, Nanganallur, from January 31.
