Woman dies as mini-lorry ploughs through group

KANCHEEPURAM, JAN.24. A 60-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured when a mini-lorry ploughed through a group of persons on Hasthagiri Street here last night.

Police sources said while Choodamani, wife of Srinivasachari of Kancheepuram, died on the spot, Srinivasachari, Pranatharthiharan and Neela sustained injuries. They were admitted to the Government Headquarters hospital here.

In another accident, Sebastian (55), a local leader of the All- India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, was fatally knocked down by an unidentified vehicle while he was coming out of a hotel at Pazhaveli, near Chengalpattu, last night.
