BANGALORE, JAN. 24. The Siddapura police on Friday night raided a house belonging to Mahin, against whom there are criminal cases, and seized 27 weapons, nine two-wheelers, and a car. They also arrested one of his associates. On a tip-off, the police raided a three-storeyed building at 3rd cross Someshwaranagar in Siddapura police station limits, which was said to be a hideout of Mahin and his associates. On seeing the police, Mahin and others escaped, while Feroze (20) of Bhuvaneshwarinagar was caught. It is said that the police who are on the lookout for Tanveer, against whom there are about 50 criminal cases, raided Mahin's place suspecting that Tanveer was taking shelter there. Meanwhile, about 50 people, including women, staged a demonstration in front of the Police Commissioner's office here on Saturday alleging that the police had acted in a high-handed manner during the raid on Friday night. They alleged that the police had ransacked the house and even assaulted some women there. However, the police dismissed the allegations. They said that after the raid Mahin's associates had returned to the building and ransacked the house themselves.
