THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 25. The `third group' in the Congress in Kerala has demanded the involvement of all prominent leaders and factions in the ongoing discussions on the settlement formula to solve the crisis in the party. Clarifying the group's stance on the settlement talks, the KPCC general secretary, Joseph Vazhakkan, said here today in a statement that the `third group' was of the strong opinion that the party would be able to function effectively only if it was headed by a KPCC president who could strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, and the Government he heads, besides promoting unity and discipline in the party. He said that the High Command's moves to settle the problems in the party by inducting the main player who had been accused of violating party discipline was itself a great compromise. The Chief Minister's willingness to include a person who still continues to criticise him and his Government was only a reflection of his magnanimity and a gesture that would not have come from any other personality in contemporary politics.
