Licence on the net

By Our Staff Correspondent

JAIPUR, JAN. 25. Taking a giant leap in e-governance, the Rajasthan Government's Agriculture Department has launched an online system for the agricultural traders for getting licence to sell seeds, fertilisers and chemicals for conservation of plants. The traders can now apply for licence on the Internet and the licence will be issued online after the mandatory period.

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Prabhulal Saini, inaugurated the online registration system in Pant Krishi Bhawan here on Saturday. The system has been developed by the State Government's agency for computer administration, Rajcomp, which has created the facility on the Agriculture Department's website.

This is the first online registration system created in the State for the benefit of public at large. The Secretary, Information Technology, Shrimat Pandey, said the new procedure would bring about transparency in the Government's functioning and save the valuable time of farmers and traders.
