Drive to improve revenue collection

RAJAHMUNDRY, JAN.25. As part of the drive to improve revenue collection, the Rajahmundry Municipal Commissioner, T.S.R. Anjaneyulu, has directed officials concerned to prepare details of ward-wise arrears of house tax, water tax etc and put up boards on vacant lands showing arrears of tax. Reviewing collection of revenue, Dr. Anjaneylu also offered incentives to the staff who achieved maximum collection. Making an entry in the service records was also being considered. There should be daily monitoring by the senior officials, Dr. Anjaneyulu said, exhorting them to ensure cent percent collection by the end of March. Dr. Anjaneyulu appointed special officers under whom bill collectors would have to work and ensure maximum revenue collection, with special emphasis on collection of arrears.

The Commissioner also appealed to the public to pay taxes and arrears promptly and help the corporation to serve them better.
