Repair road

Sir, — During the construction of the flyover on Hosur Road near the Central Silk Board, vehicles bound for Electronics City, Attibele, and Hosur were diverted through Mangamanapalya to reach Bommanahalli and Hosur Road. The heavy traffic has destroyed the Mangamanapalya-Bommanahalli Road. It is full of potholes, and there is no pavement. Hence the residents of H.S.R. Layout have been put to hardship.

The agency concerned should repair the road before any major accident takes place.

A. Radhakrishnan,

Bus service needed

Sir, — The resident of Matadahally, Rahmatnagar, MLA Layout, R.T. Nagar, Visvesvaraya Nagar, parts of Ganganagar, and Anandanagar have to board two buses to reach Mehkri Circle, Guttahally, Kumarapark, Shivananda Stores, Nehrunagar, Swasthic, and Malleswaram Circle and bus stand.

Although route no.176 (Kavalbyrasandra-RPC Layout) plies via Malleshwaram Circle, it does not touch the other places.

The buses on the route are overloaded right from the point of departure.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation should introduce an additional route for the benefit of schoolchildren, office-goers, and so on.

K.T. Thimmareddy,

Help passengers

Sir, — Anti-social elements spread newspapers and towels on the seats of railway coaches, especially those of Chennai-bound Lalbagh and Brindavan Expresses, and collect Rs. 20 from passengers who want to occupy them.

Those refusing to pay are threatened.

The Railway Protection Force should take action against such anti-social elements.

I am a senior citizen who travels to Chennai often.

Even if I go to the railway station half-an-hour before the departure of the trains, seats are not available because of the menace.

J. Sreenivasulu,
