HYDERABAD, JAN. 25. Five labourers were injured, one seriously, when the portico of a building, under construction, belonging to the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited caved in at Saifabad on Sunday morning. An Assistant Engineer, A.V.L.N. Murthy's leg was fractured after a piece of slab fell on him. The portico was laid on Saturday. The mishap occurred when the labourers went up the portico to water it. While one of the injured persons was shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, the remaining persons were admitted to a private hospital.
247 pirated VCDs seized
Task Force (East) officials on Saturday raided four video parlours at Saidabad and Chaderghat and seized 247 pirated VCDs of various movies and five MP3 discs. Four persons were taken into custody on the charge of circulating the VCDs, a press release said. The arrested persons were K. Surender of S.V. Electronics, M. Srikantha of Raghavendra Video Library, Shoil Mohammaded of New Class World Video Library and Shaik Masood of Ding Dong Video Shop.
Idol seized; two held
Task Force officials apprehended two persons and seized an idol of goddess Kanchi Kamakshi while they were trying to sell it at Dilsulkhnagar.
