NEW DELHI, JAN. 25. Eleven officers of the Delhi Police have been awarded police medals on the eve of Republic Day. Woman inspector Pratima Sharma, presently posted as SHO, Tilak Marg, has been awarded the President's Police Medal for distinguished services. Among those who have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Services are the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Legal Cell, Suvashish Choudhary, ACP, Daryaganj, Jaipal Singh, ACP FRRO, Mangi Lal Meena, ACP Traffic, Ram Karan Meena and ACP, Provision and Logistics, Vikraman Nair. With vast police experience of serving in various units of the Delhi Police, Suvashish Choudhary has developed several traffic management plans in the area of chronic problems, road safety, training and traffic engineering when he was posted in the Traffic Unit. Similarly, Ram Karan Meena has undertaken a number of traffic improvement schemes including one-way circulation plan in and around India Gate and Pusa Road to decongest the vehicular traffic. While Inspector Vijay Kumar Dham played an important role in solving a sensational case of armed robbery at a jewellery showroom in Karol Bagh, Inspector Rajinder Singh Yadav arrested the desperate gangster Yashin after an encounter in Sarita Vihar. As for Neeta Malhotra, she is engaged in the important project of self-defence training for women. Asad Raza Zaidi has won 196 commendations with cash award.
