KOCHI, JAN.26. The General Insurance Officers All India Association has urged the government not to resort to disinvestment of public sector insurance companies. The association's State General Secretary, P.P. Mohanan, said that the demand was made at a special meeting of the office-bearers. The meeting also demanded that the Union Government should stop the move to increase foreign direct investment in the insurance sector from 26 to 49 per cent. The association urged the Government to complete the talks on wage revision. The meeting was presided over by the State president of the association, M.P.Jayaram.
