ANANTAPUR, JAN. 27. All arrangements have been made for praja sadassu of Telugu Desam Party here on Wednesday. The district headquarters town has been painted in yellow with publicity material. A few State leaders of the party have been camping here for the last three days to oversee the arrangements for the rally and public meeting. They have visited the meeting place several times during the last couple of days making necessary changes at the venue - the Arts College grounds. Posters, banners, pole hangings, balloons, massive cut-outs and arches have been put up at several places. Bigger than life-size cut-outs of the party founder, N.T. Rama Rao, in various poses, particularly in mythological roles played by him in feature films, and those of the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, have been erected at important road junctions and the venue of the meeting. Potholes on main roads of the town are being covered with blacktopping. All main roads and approach roads to the venue have been re-laid. Barricades have been erected along the roads leading to the venue. Two more entrances have been arranged at the Arts College grounds by breaking of the compound wall so that the people do not face any problem while entering the venue. The municipal guest house has been spruced up for overnight stay of the Chief Minister. A helipad has been arranged behind the OTRI building. As the Chief Minister will participate in a 2.5 km rally from OTRI to the meeting venue, the road from OTRI to the venue has been filled with publicity gadgets. Party leaders, particularly aspirants for Assembly ticket, have arranged vehicles by decorating them with cut-outs and sound system. Vehicles playing TDP songs are going round the town and villages in the district. The Anantapur MP, K. Srinivasulu, said though all arrangements had been completed for the meeting they were faced with shortage of vehicles to mobilise people for the meeting.
