ANANTAPUR, JAN. 27. The Telugu Desam Party is conducting the `praja sadassus' to explain to the people the development programmes taken up by its Government and the growth achieved, several leaders of the party have said here on the eve of the praja sadassu. Talking to newspersons at a farmhouse near Rachanapalli, on the outskirts of Anantapur, on Tuesday the party general secretary, Lal Jan Basha, said they were expecting the Anantapur sadassu to prove a historical meeting. He stated that the TDP's efforts to be as closer with the people as possible all these years was reflected in the fact that people in all villages were seeking more and more vehicles to attend the meeting. He claimed that only the TDP had the right to seek vote from the people as they had been developing the State in all spheres, though they were a regional party.
He said the Congress and the TRS were coming together only for power. He said the Congress had been criticising the TRS till the Assembly was dissolved. He appealed to people to vote for the TDP for a united Andhra Pradesh (`samaikya andhra'). The Law Minister, P. Chandrasekhar, also spoke. The party incharge for the district and APSRTC Chairman, B. Shobha Nagi Reddy, the party MPs, K. Srinivasulu and B.K. Parthasarathi, the district president of the party, V. Hanumantharaya Chowdary, also spoke.
