By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
JAN.27.
Unemployed teachers on Tuesday held a massive demonstration and staged a "rasta roko" at RTC Crossroads demanding addition to the DSC 60,000 posts of teachers sanctioned by the Central Government under the Sarva Sikha Abhiyan. They blocked traffic at Ashoknagar Crossroads.
R. Krishnaiah, president, Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Association, who led the demonstration, said later that teachers staged a demonstration at the residence of the Minister for Education, M. Venkateswar Rao. Mr. Rao promised to consider the demand. Earlier, teachers took out a rally from Sundarayya Vignana Kendram to Indira Park, raising slogans and holding placards. The rally culminated in a public meeting which was addressed by Mr. Krishnaiah.
