NEW DELHI, JAN. 27. The members of Parliament's Standing Committee on Urban and Rural Development today visited the Delhi Metro Project and expressed satisfaction at the pace of progress and appreciated the new technologies adopted in the project. The Committee, headed by Chandrakant Khaire, MP, travelled on the Delhi metro between Shahdara and Inderlok and also visited the underground construction sites at Patel Chowk and Delhi Main stations. The Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, E. Sreedharan, explained the automatic fare collection system, features of the modern rolling stock, signalling and telecommunication systems.
