VISAKHAPATNAM, JAN. 28. The Khurda Road Division of the East Coast Railway organised a flower show -- Rail Puspa Ustav 2004 -- at the Bhubaneswar and Puri railway stations on the occasion of Republic Day, according to a East Coast Railway press release received from Bhubaneswar. The General Manager of the East Coast Railway, S.R. Chaudhuri, inaugurated the flower show. As many as 14 organisations, including corporate houses, institutions and organisations, along with individuals, and all the six units of the engineering department of the Khurda Road Division, exhibited a wide variety of beautiful and rare flowers and plants. A large number of railway passengers and general public visited the flower show. The show was organised with the help of the president of the Plant Lovers Association of Orissa, Priti Mohapatra. The president of the East Coast Railway Women's Welfare Organisation, Malavika Chaudhuri, gave away prizes to the winners: Nalco, Bhubaneswar (first), Estate Manager Unit of the Research and Development, Chandpur (second) and J.K. Paper Mills, Bhubaneswar (third). The Senior Assistant Divisional Engineer (Cuttack), the Assistant Divisional Engineer (Dhenkanal) and the Assistant Divisional Engineer (Bhubaneswar) received merit certificates.
