`Facelift for MCD schools'
Dedicating the 12th renovated primary school at Rana Pratap Bagh to the students on Wednesday, Mr. Goel said it has been provided with desks, chairs, swings, toys, blackboards and ceiling fans besides a new look with paint. Mr. Goel exhorted parents to render active co-operation in speeding up the Yojana and make their children best citizens.
Artistes meet Shekhawat
The performances included Vande Mataram by the Rural Development tableux, Theyyam by Kerala and Rajasthan folk by Health and Family Welfare while Goa performed Kajra and Jammu and Kashmir Deku among others, with Mr. Shekhawat later meeting the folk dancers.
Govt. to launch sports policy
Announcing this today, the Delhi Minister for Education, Sports and Tourism, Arvinder Singh Lovely, said the Government was committed to making it mandatory for all schools and colleges to make at least six teams of various games for participating in various events at the district, State and national level. Speaking at the annual sports day function of Maharaja Agrasen College at its new site of Vasundhara Enclave, Dallupura, the Minister further said that mini stadiums would be constructed for various sports in different parts of the city so that children of different age groups can avail of facilities and promote the spirit of sports among them.
