By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, JAN. 28. The president of the TMC Pondicherry committee, Theni C. Jayakumar, MLA, who is extending support to the Rangasamy Government from outside, said here today that his party's general council would meet here on February 5 to decide whether it should field a candidate in the coming Lok Sabha poll here or should be an ally of other parties. He told presspersons here today, the meeting would also discuss the present political situation marked by the former Minister, P. Kannan, quitting the Congress. He felt that it was disturbing that the Congress was working for a tie-up with a front having in it the DMK and the PMK. Mr. Jayakumar, who is also a former Minister here, said that the votes that could be mobilised by TMC in Pondicherry were crucial.
