CUDDAPAH, JAN. 28. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday favoured diversion of Godavari water to the Krishna delta area and the upland areas of Rayalaseema region and said completion of the Polavaram project would result in saving of 150 tmcft of water. Delivering his address after inaugurating the five-day `Cuddapotsavalu' festival at the municipal stadium, Mr. Naidu said the Government's goal was to complete the pending irrigation projects. Augmentation of irrigation facilities was accorded priority and Rs. 135 crores are being spent on Telugu Ganga works during the current year, he said. Mr. Naidu promised water release to Telugu Ganga project ayacut in Cuddapah district in 2005 and said works were progressing briskly.
