TIRUMALA, JAN. 28. The Crown Prince of Royal Nepal, Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev, accompanied by his wife, Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah, Princess Purnika Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah and other family members offered prayers at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara this afternoon. On their arrival at the Padmavathi Guest House, the Royal couple was accorded a warm reception. Prominent among others who received them included the Ministers -- B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, and K. Subbarayudu -- and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer, Ajeya Kallam. After a brief stay at the guesthouse, they proceeded for the darshan of the Lord. The Royal family, which was warmly received by the temple authorities, were in front of the deity for nearly 10 minutes. While going round the temple precincts, the priests explained to them the historical importance of the temple and the sacredness of the place. The Royal couple also deposited "offering" into the temple `hundi'. Later, at the Ranganayakula Mandapam situated inside the temple complex, the temple priests rendered `Veda Asirvachanam' while Mr. Ajeya Kallam presented them the `laddu prasadam'. Soon after coming out of the temple, the Royal entourage participated in the procession of `Hanumantha Vahanam', which was brought out as part of `Ratha Sapthami' celebrations. Thereafter, they returned to the guesthouse and later left for Chennai. The district police had made elaborate security arrangements both at Tirumala and Tirupati, besides deploying men on both the Tirumala ghat roads.
