UDF will forge ahead: Thangal

By our Special Correspondent

KOZHIKODE JAN. 28. Reacting to the announcement by the senior Congress leader, K. Karunakaran, that he would float a new party, the Indian Union Muslim League State president, Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal, today said the UDF would forge ahead with all its strength.

In a short and cryptic statement issued in Malappuram today, the League leader remarked it was for the Congress high command to clear things on issues pertaining to its organisational matters. The statement is seen as a reinforcement of the position so far taken by the IUML that it would not back any move that would lead to the breaking up of the ruling UDF and its Ministry.
