KOLKATA, JAN. 28. A three-member delegation, led by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) joint secretary, Prof. R.S. Shetty, will visit Pakistan for one week in the first week of next month to discus issues like safety and security of the players, tour logistics and media arrangements during India's tour of Pakistan in March-April this year. Disclosing this, the BCCI president, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya, said the other two members would be, Mr. Yashsovardhan Azad, IG of Police, VIP security division, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Mr. Amrit Mathur, director of communication, BCCI. The exact date of this team's visit would depend on visa and other formalities. Mr. Dalmiya said that Prof. Shetty would discuss the tour itinerary with the Pakistan Cricket Board officials after the three members inspected all the proposed venues keeping in mind the security of the players and media facilities. When the Board president was asked how much the general election would affect the tour, he said the Union Government had given the green signal for the Indian team to tour Pakistan and the BCCI was going ahead and planning for the tour.
He said an Australian under-19 team would visit India in the first week of February to play three one-day games against the India under-19 World Cup squad. The matches would be played at Cuttack (Feb. 4) and Kolkata (Feb. 6 and 8). The World Cup starts in Bangladesh from February 10. Our Special Correspondent
