Harika, Preetham get IM norms

CHENNAI, JAN. 28. Dronavalli Harika of Guntur and Preetham Sharma of Chennai completed their nine game International Master norms when they drew their ninth round encounter in the 1st Orient Flight School International Open chess tournament here on Wednesday.

Grandmaster Sergei Iskusnyh joined fellow Russian Alexander Fominyh in the lead, with 7.5 points, by winning a crucial 36-move queen and rook ending against Marat Dzhumaev of Uzbekistan. Fominyh played it safe with a 8-move draw against Saidali Iuldachev of Uzbekistan.
