CM lays stone for drinking water scheme

CUDDAPAH, JAN. 28. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday laid the foundation for a drinking water scheme to supply water to Cuddapah town estimated to cost Rs. 7.70 crores, at the municipal stadium here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu said about 40,000 families in the district would be assisted with an outlay of Rs. 75 crores.

He later disbursed scholarships and assets to the beneficiaries.

He also inspected a cattle show at the venue. The Minister for Tourism, T. Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Housing, P. Ramasubba Reddy, Minister for Woman and Child Welfare, S. Saraswathi, MPs, S. Ramamuni Reddy, C. Ramachandraiah and G. Ramaiah, sitting MLAs, TDP leaders, Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, Joint Collector, G. Jayalakshmi, Regional Deputy Director of Information, K. Rampulla Reddy, and other officials participated.

Earlier in the morning, folklore artistes took out an impressive rally from Kotireddy circle to the municipal stadium.
