JAIPUR, JAN. 28. As part of the 100-day action plan for the Rajasthan Government's Food and Civil Supplies Department, a special drive for the consumers' protection will be launched across the State from February 1. The three-month-long campaign will lay emphasis on prevention of adulteration in essential items and checking the hoarding and black-marketing. The State Food Secretary, Umrao Salodia, said here today that action would be taken against traders indulging in unlawful activities. Officials of the Medical and Health, Industries, Agriculture and Cooperative Departments will work in coordination with the Food Department to ensure success of the drive. Mr. Salodia said officials of the petroleum companies would also extend cooperation in the campaign, which will be undertaken in each district under the Collector's supervision. The quality and standard of the products would be checked at the petrol pumps, barrel points, and at shops selling seeds, fertilisers and pesticides. The drive will include spices, edible oils, milk, ghee and other essential items as well as the weights and measures at the retail shops in its domain.
