Minor fire at CM's bungalow
By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 28.
A minor fire broke out in the bungalow of the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti, on Thyagaraj Marg in New Delhi today. No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
According to Fire Service officials, the fire broke out in the false ceiling of one of the rooms of Ms. Bharti's residence around 1 p.m. At least four fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the blaze. But, the firemen were asked to use only foam, as the room on fire was near the "puja ghar", and water would have caused more damage to the "puja ghar"
The fire was extinguished within half-an-hour, said the fire officials. Initial investigations revealed that the fire broke out apparently due to a short circuit. The Chanakyapuri police are investigating the matter.
