NEW DELHI, JAN. 28. Though elaborate security arrangements have been made to thwart any attempt by terrorists to disrupt the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk on January 29, the Special Cell of the Delhi police has not yet been able to trace some militants suspected to be hiding in the Capital. A senior police officer said several teams had been formed to carry out combing operations across the Capital and nearby areas. The guesthouses and hotels in the Walled City area are being checked and their occupants questioned. The intelligence agencies are also conducting regular checks in coordination with the Delhi police. Meanwhile, it is learnt that two of the Lashkar-e-Taiba militants, who were arrested from Laxmi Nagar this past week, had stayed in a Nabi Karim hotel by introducing themselves as businessmen from Kathmandu. The duo had entered their name in the hotel's register as Mohammad Ibrahim (36) and Saroj Bhandari (26). They gave a Kathmandu address which later turned out to be fake. The Special Cell is now trying to nab their fellow militants.
