ELURU, JAN. 29. The West Godavari district administration has entered into a tie-up with the Indian Information Technology, Madras, for adoption of wireless loop technology (WLL) to carry out e-Governance on more sophisticated lines. The Collector, Sanjay Jaju, on Thursday said the technology would facilitate transfer of audio and video conferencing and data transmission facilities to every nook and corner of the district. The administration, through the present mode of teleconferencing, offered only audio facility and had only limited reach-out, resulting in exclusion of a chunk of areas from participation in the facility. Citing certain areas like Kondrukota in the agency which were still inaccessible to telephone, he said the project would help in taking the IT-enabled services to all parts of the district, transcending regional, social and economic barriers.
