Excise official in CBI net

HYDERABAD, JAN. 29. Central Bureau of Investigation officials caught a Central Excise official of Nizamabad for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a cable network company on Thursday.

According to the Superintendent of Police, CBI, the Superintendent of Central Excise was caught taking Rs.2,000 from the complainant for accepting the challan along with quarterly returns in respect of the cable network company of Adilabad. The case is under investigation.

The SP, in a release, said that the public could bring such complaints about corruption in Central Government departments, public sector units, banks and insurance companies to his notice in person or over phone Nos. 24732768, 24732762, 24732763(Hyderabad) and 0891-283344, 2783344 (Visakhapatnam).
